"Here you go. One Dragon's Milk."
The beer bottle slid along the bar top and Ophelia easily caught it in her hand. "Thanks," she said before downing a sip. The beer here tasted different than the ales back in the Magic Realm, but they were still pretty good. It was just one of the many new things she'd experienced since visiting Avalon on a regular basis. She liked to think she'd gotten the hang of all the modern technology, but then she'd always come across something that surprised her. For the moment though, she was comfortable at the Crossroads Tavern, sipping from her beer bottle while other customers joked and laughed with friends, or eagerly watched the game on TV. Some might not have found a bar too relaxing, but Ophelia felt like it was a nice change compared to the castle. She could forget about all her royal duties for a little while here.

The pub seemed to be a bustling place filled with people today. Yet somehow it has always been one of the places this drifter from a realm of magic seemed to dig. “One Silver Fox rum please.” The blonde blue eyed man said from a little further down the bar. It just felt somewhat calming. No duties or sword practicing to have to participate in every five minutes, atleast what it seemed like. Atleast with these people they can be more down to earth. He noticed a silver blonde haired woman a bit older than him, atleast in this worlds term order the Dragon’s Milk. Somehow the girl was able to stand a strong beer. “If you’re not too careful that stuff can pack a kick.” The alcohol wasn’t the same in the magical realm, compared to in the real world, but it still had its little kicks.

Ophelia turned her head when somebody spoke to her. It was someone she didn't recognize, and the most she could sense was that the guy was from the Magic Realm. Granted, that was an ability anybody who traveled between the two realms had, but it didn't do much help in figuring out who somebody was or what they did for a living. Honestly though, that suited Ophelia just fine. The less people here that knew she was a queen, the better. She didn't want people trying to kneel in front of her in the street or something. "Not if you're used to the stuff," she replied with a smile before taking another sip, almost as if taunting the guy.

Zircon shrugged his shoulders. "Okay, you got me there." The blue eyed blonde gave a short look at the silver haired blonde before returning to his rum. "Guess the lady can hold her liquor." He took another sip of his rum, sorta putting up a little taunt on his own accord. "So what brings the lady to the tavern? If I might be bold enough to ask." The 22 year old was probably getting into things that was none of his business. He could sense the lady was from the magic realm, somehow it didn't surprise him even if it was rare to come across with someone with that aura even in Avalon.

"I like it here," Ophelia replied simply with a shrug. "It's different from...back home. If you catch my drift." She cast a knowing look in the guy's direction. Odds were, if he was here in Avalon instead of the Magic Realm, he was probably looking for a change of pace too. That was usually the most common reason those from the Magic Realm came here. Or they were just curious as to how different things were. "So...do you have a name?" she asked.

The violet eyed girl was indeed speaking a familiar tone that the blue eyed man was indeed familiar with. It seemed like he was indeed catching her drift, the real realm was a place to escape obligations that tied those from the magical realm. “Zircon...... just Zircon.” He answered the lady before taking another sip of his rum. The liquid taste of the alcohol touching his throat left a refreshing trail as he turned to the blonde. “Indeed.... It is different.... Miss?”

"Ophelia." Some might have thought it better to go under a disguised name if she wanted to escape any attention, but Ophelia felt like that was more trouble than it was worth. Besides, it wasn't like she was criminal. She was just taking a break from her royal duties for a while. "It's funny. I didn't realize that Ophelia was such a popular name here, in a way. Everyone asks me if I was named after a character in this play by a guy called Shakespeare. I'd never even heard of it until I came here." She took another sip before saying "Guess it goes to show that you can learn a lot from this place."

Zircon gave a nod, honestly he didn't here of the guy.... what was his name Shakespeare either. The name sounded like something they would find in their home world rather in the real world though. Though the girl had a point. "Interesting and yeah you could say that, though it's a nice name. Don't think you should change it." said the blue eyed drifter. The name was somewhat familiar to him, but he couldn't place it, maybe it was just a name he heard around the academy. "I mean at least it's modest.... A modest name for even this place. My name is just a blue gemstone in this world." he shrugs.

Ophelia gave a little laugh. "At least gemstones are pretty," she said. This guy seemed nice enough to maybe hang out with for a little while and pass the time. She heard a loud cheer from further down the bar and turned her head. It looked like whoever the patrons were watching on the TV had scored a goal. "Oh, I've seen this one before. People here get super excited about it. What's it called? Um...foos-ball, I think?" That didn't sound quite right, but the name was escaping her at the moment.

Zircon raised his eyebrow to Ophelia's first comment. Gemstones were indeed pretty, but it was sort of the last thing that the drifter really wanted to be recognized with on the pretty side, yet on the rock side maybe just maybe it's something. He took another sip. The girl was indeed nice, somewhat in a mellow way sorta someone the drifter would want to hang out with from time to time. He turned to the screen and looked up. ""Oh yeah.... foos ball, doesn't quite sound right to me either. I think it has something to deal with the body, foot ball. I believe that is what they call it." The game sorta reminded him of something that the knights would have played in a tournament.

"Football, that's it," Ophelia replied, the name coming back as soon as Zircon mentioned it. "Although it seems like they use their hands so much more than their feet. You'd think they'd call it "handball" or something." She sipped her drink again. "Although I guess the energy is the same. Jousting tournaments can get pretty intense too." Stuff like that was usually a good excuse for the kingdom's citizens to have some fun and show off their skills. Although Ophelia felt like she liked them more when she was younger. Nowadays, she usually had to sit prim and proper while the tournaments were going on. And if the knights were in an especially bold mood, they'd throw her flowers to try and win her favor. She'd once gotten a dozen in one day, which had been a little embarrassing. Once it was all over and done with, she just stuck them all in a vase and gave them to the royal cooks so the kitchen could smell nice while they worked.

Zircon couldn't help, but shake his head and give a light laugh at the beginning of the comment. "I know.... It seems that they are pretty lazy with the names." The young blonde haired man then listened to the blonde woman continue. As she mentioned jousting and comparing the two was actually very on point. "Tell me about it, atleast they are running with a ball and not sticks or swords at each other." He imagined a few that he had to participate in, most of the other knights were cocky, looking forward to jabbing each other. Zircon enjoyed participating, however it seemed the half elf enjoyed his other knightly duties a bit more. He didn't see the logic of trying to jab a stick at someone in order to please a royal, after all they were just people. "I wonder what they have to please in order to keep on playing?" Looking down at the bottom of the screen, the sponsorships. "I guess those shields must be them."

Right, sports here were a bit different. There was no monarch to please. Ophelia wondered if she could ever recreate any of these sports back in the Magic Realm. "You think any knights could pull off football?" she asked, laughing a little. It was funny to imagine. Would they still throw roses to ladies, trying to win their favor in between tackling each other to get the ball? She wondered if any of the knights would get it, or if she could even explain it.

Zircon raised an eyebrow to Ophelia and actually even he found himself laughing a bit at that. "Telling you... I bet they would actually like to butt heads that way, though they might also from a logical point, have a hard time seeing the point at first. Some would say too tame, too. But I think maybe some would find it a bit intriging while others not so much." Zircon spoke a bit like he knew what the other knights were like. It wasn't a bad idea, but most of the knights he met were excited to spill blood for the queen. Like that would make the queen like them? She seemed like a nicer person that that, at least that is what Zircon liked to imagine. She didn't seem like the uptight sorta girl that most royals were. Being around the magic realm for a few thousand years, you can get a taste of what people are like. The drifter also longed for a change in the ways things were back home in the capital. At least that was what Zircon thought. "In the end I guess the most logical way to put it, is knights will be knights. Jocks are Jocks. "

"Sounds like you know them quite well," Ophelia said. Maybe Zircon was a knight himself. She didn't know every single one by name, commanding officers were in charge of that sort of thing, but she trusted them to do their job. Her parents had drilled into her head early on that in order to serve the crown, as was a knight's job, they had to protect the people. And she made sure they were willing to do it.
