As the dawn rose up shining down through the small peep hole from Anya’s curtains. She tossed and turned in her slumber, trying her best to hide the sun from her eyes. “No.” she cried, as the sound from her Alarm went off. Smacking her hand down harsh on her alarm, the redhead sat up raising her hands to whip off the sleep from her eyes. “I hate adulting.” mumbling underneath her breath. Anya had only been in Avalon about a week rescuing her mother, Natasha. Needing answering about herself. She swung her legs off the bed feeling the cold floor against her skin, she stood up walking towards the door grabbing her robe, swinging it over her shoulders. Anya heads to the kitchen making herself coffee. “What a long night.” she yawned. After working at the bar, she heads back to her apartment looking up more about her mother.
'knock, knock'
From the door. Anya looks over her shoulders wondering who it could be early in this morning. She turned around walking up to the door “Who is it?” she asked. “Package for Anastasiya Morozov.” She startled feeling frozen in fear. Who knew she was here? Her father? Emily? Anyone? “Um, yes that’s me?” she replied, opening the door seeing a young man holding a package in his hands. “Here ma’am this has been waiting for a long time.” he chuckled, handing over the package to the redhead. Receiving a disc from the man. Anya thanked the guy and shut the door quickly as her body turned around looking for a clue. There was no return address? She ripped the package and opened a certain disc waiting inside with a letter. The letter was from her mother, Natasha writing her to daughter about how much she loved her and wished she had more time with her. As she reads the letter her eyes tears up hating how time took her mother away. Reading towards the bottom her eyes widened in shock.
‘My little Anya. You don’t know how special you are in fact I am not really from this ‘world’. I am from a realm filled with magic like the books I read to you before tucking you in bed. Your mother is a Bakeneko, a shapeshifting cat. That means you are too. Please, if you want to know about your bloodline I left this disc for you to be able to travel between realms.’
She decided to try it. What could go wrong?
Within the world of the Magic Realm, Anya still looked like herself. She met her mother’s ‘tribe’, her grandmother, and the chief of the Bakeneko tribe handed her a small compact. “What's a Bakeneko?” She asked, raising a brow. “It’s what human’s call a cat demon, but really we’re shapeshifters with the ability to transform into a cat.” The chief said placing his hand on the girl’s shoulder staring deeply into her eyes. “Just hold up his compact and you’ll be able to transform. Inheriting your bakeneko bloodline. However, you’ll have to train in order to control the cat within you, Anastasiya.” Stunned by his words Anya felt afraid of what she’ll become. What did he mean ‘control the cat within her.’
“Now! Transform Anya.”
Raising the compact in the air, Anya transforms into a Bakeneko. Her red hair faded into a soft pink with black cat ears handing on the top of her head. Her eyes even turned pink. “Ahh!!” she screamed. “What happened? Why is my hair…” Her cat ears twitched. “I got a cat…” Before she said anything she felt soft fur rubbing against her legs. Slowly, she turned her head around only to scream in terror “A TAIL! I HAVE A TAIL!” she cried, falling on her needs. This was too much. Why didn't her father tell her about this? Did he know anything about her mother, this realm, her bloodline. “It’s okay little one. Soon you’ll learn everything about this world, now come lets begin your training.”
What else could she do? Was Anya stuck in this world alone? Can she go back to Avalon? Is there anyone else in this world like her? Anya only nodded in silence, taking the chief's hand as she stood up. “Where do we begin?”
