Arsinoe wasn't happy. Her eyes looked like emeralds, both in color and how stone like they could be when she was furious. She walked to the large building that was both the prison of Blackpool and the home of one of the most prominent pains in her ass, Rias, a knight who kept thinking he was a noble. Normally that wouldn't trouble the young Truth Witch, but the sheer arrogance of the man really got under Arsinoe's skin. The closer she got to the building the angrier she got. She had recently gotten a letter about how Rias had arrested someone, without informing her of the man's crime. The prisoner hadn't even gotten a trial.
Once she was inside she didn't even wait to be announced before storming into Rias's office. "Where is he?!" she growled. "And don't pretend you don't know who I'm talking about. The man you arrested without informing me until after the fact! You know perfectly well that's not how things work."

Rias looked at the black haired truth witch, my was she a pain in the behind, always nagging about something. The red headed Brianna had just came to him with an accusation over a young brown haired man who had been in the village recently, telling her that he attacked her. The guy was obviously a half demon and the lady did look scared when she came to him. "What was I supposed to do let the young man go away scott free? Even you know the law, plus also don't you think out in public is not the place to through that info around."
Bruce was already having a bad day, ever since Rias had cursed him with the stupid shield. It had been a downhill slope. All he cared about now was finding his daughter's version in this world and hearing that she was safe, breaking the curse would be just a bonus. He doubted that bone headed blonde oaf of a knight would have a run in with him again, atleast not so soon. With his luck however that was most untrue. Great another broad with that knight, what is this one doing. Accusing a child of stealing candy. He listened. Atleast this one didn't seem to be as crazy as the other chick.

"Maybe inform me as soon as the problem arose?" Arsinoe hissed. "Hold him without throwing him in a dungeon, while you waited for me to come? There are hundreds of ways you could have handled this." She took a deep breath as she straightened her hair, hoping to calm down. She looked around the room and her eyes landed on a brown-haired young man. Her eyes lost a little bit of their harshness as she walked toward him.
"Tell me what happened." She said kindly. She tilted her head as she listened and allowed her magic to fill the space between the two of them. She would be able to tell if the man lied to her.

Rias rolled his eyes. During that time Ari was away doing something or was she around he didn't know and he didn't care. The action needed to be taken then and there to take care of the heathen who once again enraged the young knight as he saw the same heathen standing there. Bruce raised his eyebrow at the young woman. Did she just ask him what happened? The near middle aged warrior looked at him and then at the knight in the corner and glared angrily at him. Then calmed down. "I would be glad to tell you what happened. I was accused of harming some red headed maiden, who I swear I never even touched and if I did, it wasn't attacking her as they claim. I just came to this world fascinated by it and wanted to ask some questions. Then the next thing I knew after asking the girl question, that man over there just stuck his spear at my throat and ignored my pleas to listen. He then cursed me. So frankly I don't trust him." Bruce told the lady all his side. It somehow felt nice to finally have someone want to hear his side of the story.

"You're from the Outside?" Arsinoe asked for clarification. She shot Rias a deadly glare when she heard that he had cursed the man. "I can see that you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. And I apologize for that." She took a deep breath through her nose as she stood up and turned back to Rias.
"Please explain why you decided to curse him before informing either me or the Queen?" She asked without showing any emotion in either her voice or her face. "I would think arresting him would have been enough."

Bruce looked at the younger than him black haired maiden. He gave a nod acting a bit softspoken still not knowing who to trust in this world. The maiden actually seemed like a trustworthy soul. In the human world it would have been different, but here his heart was still a bit cautious about the people he ran into, but she was indeed different and he felt that he could trust her a bit to see his case right and at least he was yelling at the blonde oaf. That actually made the outcast warrior feel a bit better. "You were off in another case and the Queen is all the way at the capital. Why would I risk the half demon escaping with a crime and not yet payed if you would have taken a week to get back? Besides demons can't be trusted. They deserve to be belittled." Rias couldn't help but hide his hatred for demons. Behind all he knew demons were evil and he must obey the will in his heart. "Maybe, or maybe not. I will admit to that, but he needed to pay then and there. Besides the lady needed help. I stand by my oath as a knight to help any maiden in need."

"Again there are many different ways you could have dealt with this," Arsinoe said still with no emotion. A flash of rage flickered across her eyes at the comment of demons deserving to be demeaned. As much as Arsinoe wanted to throttle the knight, she knew that would solve nothing, in fact, it was highly illegal and would only make things worse.
"Your oath?" She scoffed. "As a knight, you also have an oath to see justice done and listen to both sides. You have an oath to be fair to all beings." Sighing she rolled her shoulders as she stepped away from Bruce. "Regardless of what has been done, I'm here now and can tell you that he is a hundred percent innocent." She said pointedly. "So I suggest that you find that woman and ask her what possessed her to lie to a knight."

Rias had nothing to say after that. He knew his oath as a knight and respected it deeply, even if he was showing unknightly behaviors and still thought that Bruce was guilty of something. The terror he saw in the young woman's eyes that night was in fact as truthful as the truth witch's own words. Something was indeed up there. "I think.... I might..... I might have to do that, but still... I don't trust him, even if you the witch of truth, says it's the truth. Something is indeed up here, though I swear on my spear I will never trust that man, but I will get down on it." Rias was indeed prejudice towards demons, even if it was an older faith, it was still something he stood stout on.
"Haven't you done enough Rias..." The near middle aged brown haired man started to roll his eyes himself. "She just said that I was innocent." Bruce just had it with the guys attitude. Ever since he entered this world the knight was a bit of a prick and now acting like he had honor, was really something Bruce didn't want to be. Great this would be a great book. Huh?
Bruce looked at the black haired woman who just claimed his innocence. He saw in her, just then an angelic witch of truth. He was grateful to her for what she did, but still even now all the interactions kept him from saying the words he wanted to say that would have come so easily in the real world.

"Do that." Arsinoe said, happy that Rias was listening to her without arguing. She had learned long ago that in order to not have a full-blown debate with the knight, she needed to give him something else to do once she gave her verdict. She made a mental note to catch up with Rias later, to see if she could help find out why that woman would lie.
She gave an inward sigh of annoyance at Rias's insistence that he would never trust the other man, purely because he was a demon. As much as she would like to argue about the hypocrisy of him being a knight and then letting his bias blind him, she knew it was just a waste of energy. She watched the knight leave the room before turning back to Bruce.
"Sorry about that."

“Yes mam.” The blonde knight was off in a dash after that. He didn’t like feeling tricked, but what could the Knight do. Bruce looked at the raven haired woman who just confirmed he was honest, at the end of the day she was doing her job and that’s it. It wasn’t that they knew each other. Bruce pulled out a pouch of coins gave a nod. “Thanks for that.” He handed the lady the pouch. “For your services, hope that’s fair enough. Also it’s alright I guess. Thank you.”

Arsinoe watched the blonde knight leave. Once he was out of sight she relaxed, breathing out a sigh of relief. Now that Rias was gone she could focus on the other man. She blinked in surprise at being offered a bag of money. "That, that really isn't necessary." She said. "I'm just sorry that I wasn't able to get you uncursed. If you're from the outside, you should save your money."
Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear she cleared her throat. "My name is Arsinoe Amnell, but you may call me Ari. And you are?"

'Arisone, nice name.' thought the brown haired outcast and it was nice of her to give him back his money. Something was changing and he felt that he met the first person in this realm that he could trust. "Thank you then... Bruce Lancaster, I am a librarian in the other world. Here pretty much just the run of the mill forced to be outcast I guess and it's fine. I'm getting used to the shield." Bruce looked over at the girl and then over the tavern. "Atleast let me buy you a drink. I promise I am honest and not trying to force you into anything." Bruce honestly just wanted to thank the lady in some way. It felt wrong not to repay the deabt and he didn't want that one hanging over his shoulder. In this world and the ones he wrote, his style of fiction character always had to end up repaying a debt in some form. At least now in this world, he had a person that trusted him.

"Nice to meet you, Bruce," Arsinoe said with a smile. She had to admit that she was curious about the curse that Rias had given him. She hadn't been aware that he had the capability to curse people. She chuckled at his comment about being honest. "I know you are, that's the benefit of being a Truth Witch." She explained. "A drink would be nice, actually. I can spare a few hours before I have to get back home."

Bruce gave a slight smile, not being the sorta thing he would be used to doing ever since his wife passed away, yet somehow this raven haired mistress seemed to put the young warrior’s mind at ease. “Yeah… So know a good place? I am still getting used to this sort of environment.” Bruce had visited the game a few times, but still it wasn’t like the game loaded a brain with a map and list of directions. Mostly he would just spend most of the time traveling about in the wilds since he was cursed and would rather not run into the temptress again, especially after running into Rias. “I’ll admit it’s nice to meet you too, Lady Arsinoe.” He began to spoke, great did he have to actually sound like he was at a Renaissance Fair.
Truth Witch? So that must have been how Arsinoe knew that he wasn’t speaking with a false tongue about what happened. Still, he was rather grateful that she was one to listen and not judge him falsely like so many he met in this world.

"Shadowfen Library has a nice cafe by it," Arsinoe said after a few seconds. She made it a habit to avoid taverns. Her kind wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms in what her family would call low-brow places. "It has good drinks and is very reasonably priced." She found herself smiling a lot more than usual around this place. Especially after dealing with Rias. "I can show you the way if you have nothing else to do here. Though if I had to venture a guess I'm willing to bet that you want to put as much distance between Blackpool and Rias as possible."
