Name: Delia Ryder
Age: 22
Race Inside the Magic Realm: Cait-Sith
Abilities: She doesn’t have any magic in her, but she is well-trained in sword fighting, hand-to-hand combat, and other weaponry. Due to Delia’s physiology in the Magic Realm, she has picked up more cat-like tendencies. For example, she has a wider hearing range, a better sense of balance, and she can see in the dark. However, in this form she’s afraid of mice.
Occupation: Freelance Journalist (Real world)/ Adventurer/Sword Fighter/Bodyguard for Hire (Magic Realm)
Backstory: Delia was originally from Minneapolis until she turned four. Her mother was pregnant with another child and their smaller house couldn’t really fit another child. She missed her kindergarten friends, but she was excited to have a sister. As Delia grew older, she figured she’d much rather do other things than hang with her baby sister. After all, the other kids in her grade said she was weird, and she was starting to see the signs. First of all, her name was Constance among all names, and she’d much rather spend her time on the computer than outside. That didn’t last too long though. When Delia was 16, she finally realized what she was doing was wrong and she started to spend more time with Connie. They became as thick as thieves, even if she didn’t fully understand her interests..
Two years later, two discs mysteriously showed up at the Ryder household. Delia was excited to play the game, but the timing of its arrival was just too late. It was the exact same date she was going to leave Avalon and move into her dorm. Their schedules would be far too different and communication would be near impossible, so she first had to decline. She didn’t know how much this would affect things, but she didn’t think much of it. Delia tried to keep in contact with Connie as best as she could, but alas schoolwork and jobs got in the way. She even tried to play the game, but it didn’t work. Over time she just forgot to answer her texts; there were years where she only remembered her birthday just because Facebook reminded her.
A few years later while she was at an internship, Delia got a message from a coworker about something happening back in Avalon. Something about her sister having gone missing for about a week. Upon realizing that this might be her fault, she quickly drove back home and interviewed as many people as she could about Connie’s disappearance but she couldn’t get anywhere until she met with one of her friends from high school. He mentioned something about the Magic Realm and that was the last time she was seen online. Remember that she still had the disc, she plopped it in as soon as she got home and started on her quest to reconcile with Constance. They found each other after a few days of searching, but the reconciliation process needed some more work.
Personality: Delia is a hard-working and driven individual. Once you get her started on something she doesn’t stop until it gets done. This can cause problems for her as she can easily get overworked. She is usually very cheerful, friendly, and all around good to be around, but possesses a remarkably short fuse once frustrated. She is very much grounded in reality and is still getting used to the whole mechanics of the Magic Realm despite her interest in it. She is a bit of a nerd, but not as much as her sister.
